Disney+ removed GroupWatch in September 2023
Disney+ used to have a native feature called GroupWatch, but Disney shut it down on September 18, 2023. Last verified: July 2026. That leaves no built-in way to watch Disney+ together today, which is why most people now use a third-party sync tool. GroupWatch was also fairly limited while it lasted. It capped rooms at 7 people, only let you react with emoji (no text or voice chat), and required everyone to be in the same country. So even if it were still around, the experience was thinner than people remember.
